What a powerful Bible study we had tonight with our Sisterhood Singles+ group! Our Topic was on Forgiveness! Wow! As I read the devotion, I applied every word to my life! Then I repented!

Acts 7:54-60 talks about Stephen and how he was martyred for Christ’s sake and stoned to death!

“Now when they heard this [accusation and understood its implication], they were cut to the heart, and they began grinding their teeth [in rage] at him. But he, being full of the Holy Spirit and led by Him, gazed into heaven and saw the glory [the great splendor and majesty] of God, and Jesus standing at the right hand of God; and he said, “Look! I see the heavens opened up [in welcome] and the Son of Man standing at the right hand of God!” But they shouted with loud voices, and covered their ears and together rushed at him [considering him guilty of blasphemy]. Then they drove him out of the city and began stoning him; and the witnesses placed their outer robes at the feet of a young man named Saul. They continued stoning Stephen as he called on the Lord and said, “Lord Jesus, receive and accept and welcome my spirit!” Then falling on his knees [in worship], he cried out loudly, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them [do not charge them]!” When he had said this, he fell asleep [in death].”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭7:54-60‬ ‭AMP‬‬

As I read the verses above and how Stephen called upon the Father to forgive those who were about to kill him, I was amazed by the compassion he felt for them!

That’s how I want my life to be! I want to reflect Christ so much that when I’m wronged or hurt by someone that I just tell the Father ‘forgive them Lord’ and move on, not holding onto any hurts, anger or unforgiveness!

My prayer for all of us today is to let go of things that could be holding us back from where God is wanting to take us! New Heights and Deeper Depths; there is so much more of God that we can have and learn from, but when we are wallowing in self-pity and unforgiveness we remain stuck in a place not loving ourselves and really not loving other people! We will always play the victim!

So I choose freedom today! I choose to say like Stephen, “Father forgive them” and move on! I want my life to represent Christ! I’m not my own! I was bought with a price that I didn’t have to pay, but my Heavenly Father paid it in FULL!

So choose FREEDOM today! Choose to FORGIVE!

Tip of the Day: Take a piece of paper, write down your hurts and who hurt you. Fold the paper and lay your hand on top of it and pray over it! Release it to the Lord! Then throw it in the trash or burn it, and walk a way! Freedom!
