Have you ever had a week where you’re so exhausted that it has made you sick? Well, that’s been me this week! I’ve made myself go to work and come home and do my tasks, all the while feeling like I could just drop anytime.
I’m not telling you this for sympathy, but I’m telling you this so you can learn something from what I’m about to tell you.
As you get older your body just doesn’t do what it used to, (Can I get an Amen?), so now you have to prioritize and adjust yourself to everyday LIFE. Take it from me, I’m learning the hard way!
So what I’m telling you to do is just step back, breathe and look at the big picture! Are there things that you’re doing that aren’t really that important? Or are there things that you’re doing just because you couldn’t say “no”?
1. Look at your weekly calendar (if you have one) and see which things you could mark off. If you don’t have a weekly calendar and you just fly by the seat of your pants, I encourage you to get one! It will help you stay on track, plus you won’t overload yourself with things that just really don’t matter!
2. Get plenty of REST! I’m normally in bed by 8pm just to wind down and then by 9pm lights are off! Sometimes, if I’m having trouble falling asleep, I’ll stay up until 9:30-10pm but the next day is not good for me!
3. Get some type of exercise. Now I’m really preaching to the choir here! I know I need to do this but most days I’m so tired I can’t even think about it! So here and now, I’m challenging myself to do better! Hold Me To It!😜
I guess what I’m trying to say is, look at yourself and take notice of what your body is trying to tell you! LISTEN! It’s always RIGHT!!!
“Return to your rest, O my soul, For the Lord has dealt bountifully with you.”
Psalms 116:7 AMP
I hope this has helped you!! I know sometimes the Holy Spirit will give us rest if we just take a step back and BREATHE!!
Have a great weekend!!
